OPEX Corporation Wins Patent Dispute
OPEX Corporation recently won its patent dispute over Invata, LLC of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania (“Invata”) and HC Robotics of Hangzhou City, China (“HC Robotics”). The International Trade Commission held that Invata and HC Robotics infringed two of OPEX’s patents related to OPEX’s award-winning Sure Sort® and Perfect Pick® systems and their associated iBOT® vehicles.
After a full trial, the International Trade Commission concluded that Invata and HC Robotics’ second generation Omnisort system infringes OPEX’s U.S. Patent Nos. 8,622,194 and 10,576,505. The ruling also upheld the validity of OPEX’s patents.
The ITC ruling adds to a previous Consent Order, in which Invata and HC Robotics agreed to no longer import or sell their first generation Omnisort systems in the United States.
Alex Stevens, OPEX Corporation’s Warehouse Automation President, commented: “We are pleased with the ITC’s decision on multiple fronts: The first being that our patents are valid and in force and the second being that there is an exclusion order preventing import of the infringing product into the United States. We believe the ruling reinforces OPEX’s position as a leader and pioneer in warehouse automation. Moving forward, we continue to remain focused on driving innovation to solve our customers’ problems.”
