The opening hours of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency’s Vaasa service location will change from 1 September 2026

The opening hours of the Vaasa service location of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency are changing. From 1 September 2026, the Vaasa service location will be open by appointment on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We will provide service without an appointment in Vaasa on Wednesdays between 9:00 and 12:00.

The opening hours of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency’s Vaasa service location will change as follows from 1 September 2026: 

  • Service by appointment on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 9:00 and 16:00.
  • In-person services without an appointment will be available on Wednesdays from 9:00 to 12:00.
  • Wedding ceremonies will be held on Wednesdays. 

Opening hours will be adjusted according to customer needs to ensure that customer service is available within a reasonable time, both without an appointment and by appointment.

The Digital and Population Data Services Agency sees to the maintenance of the Population Information System, which is the foundation for our society, and to the digitalisation of society.

The agency’s tasks include civil marriages, name and address changes, guardianship and administrative guardianship, maintenance of the Population Information System, development of solutions for electronic identification, as well as the development and maintenance of centralised support services for e-services. E-service support services include the Suomi.fi Web Service, electronic messages from authorities (Suomi.fi Messages) as well as authorisation for acting on behalf of another party (Suomi.fi e-Authorization).

The Digital and Population Data Services Agency leads the way, reforms society and supports citizens in their interaction with public administration. Our aim is to further promote the smooth functioning of Finnish society. Digitalisation is one important way to achieve this.

Since the entry into force of the legislation on the priority of digital official communications, the use of the service has increased rapidly. For a growing number of Finns, electronic official mail has become an ordinary way to receive messages from the authorities.
