A rare new type of ecosystem for startup growth architecture and funding is born in Finland
Statistics from the venture investment organization Invest Europe reveal that Finland has grown to be a major startup cradle. In relation to GDP, Finland is the leading country in Europe with successful startup funding. International equity and venture investors are very interested in Finland, and now a strong Finnish player has burst onto the scene, as Almaral and Liquido partner up to offer a unique blend of know-how in building startups. Similar ecosystems are few and far between, even on a global scale, with the best-known ones being Antler and Y-Combinator.
Almaral is a private equity company that focuses on the development and funding of biotech and life science startups. Liquido Ventures is an investment company that supports founders exceptionally closely at the pre-seed and seed stage.
Liquido Ventures CEO, Jonas Lundberg:
“Funding is good, but architecture is key. You can’t build a house by staring at bank transactions alone. Finland has been missing an ‘architecture office’ that specializes in venture building and provides strong networks with funders. Partnering with Almaral, which shares our values, will strengthen both our positions in this market. Above all, it will bring our partners new growth opportunities and a stronger competitive edge.”
Almaral CEO, Dr. Maria Severina:
“Almaral supports entrepreneurs in developing and funding international growth companies. We know from experience how international success is built. Together with Liquido we see a great opportunity to build a unique ecosystem of ambitious entrepreneurs and startups and organizations that support them. In addition to enabling funding and growth, we are eager to share our own experiences to inspire growth-minded founders.”
The partnership provides tangible benefits for startups: enhanced quality of services, a wider span of knowledge and larger networks. The goal is to have the most high quality deal flow in the market.
