STUK’s report on supervising Fennovoima’s project
STUK continued the processing of the preliminary safety analysis report describing the plant’s safety solutions and required Fennovoima to submit assessments of the detected defects. The numbers of the preliminary safety analysis report are delivered to STUK in several batches and, therefore, it is not yet possible to form an overall picture of the plant development in order to compile the safety assessment.
The inspections carried out by STUK are also related to the processing of the construction licence application. During the final third of 2020, STUK carried out five inspections. The inspection methods, safeguards of nuclear materials, electrotechnics and management system of Fennovoima and the procedures of the main contractor Titan-2 were inspected.
STUK conducted the inspections as remote inspections in line with the planned programme. It was not necessary to postpone or cancel the handling of matters due to the coronavirus situation.
