Taaleri updates distribution practices for its private equity and alternative investment products to better serve institutional clients
Taaleri is developing its distribution practices to better meet the needs of institutional clients and other professional investors. The goal is to improve client engagement in the marketing and distribution of private equity and alternative funds.
As part of this update, Taaleri has terminated the cooperation agreement with Aktia Bank Plc signed in 2021, which was established in connection with the sale of its wealth management business. As a result of this change, Taaleri may now offer its products directly not only to large domestic and international investors but also more flexibly to smaller domestic institutional players. The change does not affect existing fund agreements or client relationships.
The decision is driven by the aim to deepen interaction between Taaleri’s private equity teams and professional investors, as well as to cater to client feedback.
“Strong client relationships were the foundation of Taaleri’s operations nearly 20 years ago and laid the groundwork for our growth. Now we are returning to our roots with a model where the teams’ expertise connects directly with capital,” says Taaleri’s CEO Ilkka Laurila.
Taaleri strengthens its sales capabilities further
Taaleri announced on 13 June 2025 the appointment of Timo Teivaanmäki as its Head of Institutional Sales, effective 13 October 2025. Teivaanmäki’s experience in leadership roles within wealth management, Family Office clients, and Private Banking business strengthens Taaleri’s client-centric approach. He will continue the successful development of sales in collaboration with Mikko Ervasti, Head of Capital Development & Partnerships.
“The new leadership, combined with the updated distribution model, enables more effective interaction with those interested in our products. In addition to direct client relationships, we can now build a more diverse distribution network,” Laurila adds.
In addition, Taaleri is strengthening its international fundraising network in collaboration with seasoned institutional sales professional Shaun McWilliam. McWilliam brings extensive experience in institutional fundraising for real estate funds across the Nordics and Europe. He has previously held investor relations and institutional sales roles at Aegon Asset Management, AXA Real Estate, and Aberdeen Asset Management.
“Shaun McWilliam has a strong European investor network and decades of industry experience, which will accelerate the growth of our international capital base,” says Laurila.
