SkartaNYAB has signed a significant frame agreement with Swedish Transport Administration

NYAB Mälardalen AB, a company that belongs to SkartaNYAB Group, has signed a frame agreement with Swedish Transport Administration regarding preparatory land improvement and construction work of the expansion of Mälaren Line railway. The maximum value of the frame agreement is 400 million SEK and the ultimate value to the company depends on the number of orders made under the agreement. The contract period continues until the end of May 2025 and includes an option for a two-year extension. At the signing of the agreement, first orders worth five million SEK have been agreed on, beside which about ten potential following projects have been identified for execution within the first year.

“This railway contract means a lot for our backlog. It strengthens our position and growth in the Stockholm area, and as a perennial contract it has a significant strategic value”, says Johan Larsson, CEO of SkartaNYAB Plc.

Mälaren Line is a railway from Stockholm to Örebro that is being expanded from two tracks to four tracks northwest of Stockholm. The project with a total value of 25 billion SEK markedly improves the fluency of public transportation, as regional and long-distance transportation can be separated to their own tracks. Four new stations are also built as a part of the project, and they are expected to be opened by 2034.
