PerkinElmer aloittaa COVID-19- ja infuenssavirusten erotusdiagnoosin mahdollistavan testin tuotannon Turussa
PerkinElmer, Inc., maailmanlaajuinen johtaja, joka on sitoutunut innovoimaan entistä terveempää maailmaa, ilmoitti tänään, että PKamp™ Respiratory SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR -paneelia valmistetaan nyt yhtiön Turun toimipaikassa myytäväksi Suomessa ja muualla Euroopassa. Useita analyyttejä kattava testi sai CE-IVD-hyväksynnän lokakuussa 2020. Määritys mahdollistaa SARS-CoV-2-viruksen, A- ja B-influenssavirusten sekä respiratory syncytial -viruksen (RSV) erotusdiagnoosin yhdellä testillä.
Useiden testien tekemisen sijaan PKamp Respiratory SARS-CoV-2 RT-PCR -paneeli on suunniteltu säästämään resursseja ja sen avulla voidaan testata yhdestä nenänielutikkunäytteestä COVID-19-, influenssa- ja RS-virusinfektioita. Tämä useita analyyttejä kattava paneeli on suunniteltu käytettäväksi PerkinElmerin automatisoidun virusten nukleiinihappojen eristyslaitteen kanssa pientenkin virusmäärien havaitsemiseksi näytteistä.

Aiemmin tänä vuonna PerkinElmerin Turun toimipaikka toi markkinoille myös kuivaverinäytteeseen (DBS) perustuvan testin SARS-CoV-2-viruksen IgG-vasta-aineelle. Testissä käytetään GSP®/DELFIA®-alustaa, jolla voidaan käsitellä jopa 5 000 näytettä päivässä. Tämänkaltaisilla serologisilla testeillä havaitaan veressä olevia vasta-aineita, jotka muodostuvat sen jälkeen, kun immuunivaste taudinaiheuttajalle on muodostunut. Serologisilla testeillä on yhä suurempi merkitys laajamittaisessa väestöseulonnassa, kun COVID-19-rokotteita ja -rokotusohjelmia otetaan käyttöön.
PerkinElmerin Turun toimipaikka on kasvattanut COVID-19-virukseen liittyvien ratkaisujen tuotantoa ja jakelutoimintoja huomattavasti. Tähän mennessä yli 12,4 miljoonaa PerkinElmer® SARS-CoV-2 Real-time RT-PCR -kittiä on toimitettu tästä toimipaikasta CE-merkinnän hyväksyvien maiden testauslaitoksiin.
