Yepzon’s first product launch to increase safety for millions - The world’s easiest positioning service created in Finland

The safety technology developed by Yepzon combines positioning technologies, mobile equipment and a new type of cloud service. The first product launch based on Yepzon’s technology is a wearable positioning solution for children.

“In 2013, we reviewed statistics on missing persons and immediately started product development. In the EU and US alone, more than a million children go missing each year. More than 100,000 of them will never be found. With modern technology, this need not be,” says Otto Linna, founder and Chairman of the Board of Yepzon.

The small and lightweight Yepzon positioning device conveniently goes where the child goes. If the child gets lost, Yepzon’s universal user interface enables positioning from near or far. The device and application are easy and safe to use - the device works on all key smartphone platforms, no personal information will be asked and no user credentials required. The device has no buttons and is ready to use in a minute, and the battery will last for up to several months.

“Key drawbacks of earlier equipment have included complex use, high price and poor battery life. Our product will solve these problems. Our vision is to make this technology available for the safety of all children globally, regardless of their parents’ income level,” Linna says.

Developed and manufactured in Finland, Yepzon’s consumer products are scalable to anywhere in the world. At the beginning of sales, the main market areas are the EU, the US and Russia.

Having already attracted a large number of pre-orders, the Yepzon products will be available for Christmas deliveries in 2014. Consumer sales of the products in Finland will begin in the Christmas season.
