DNA to form one strong corporate business unit

Share
DNA will merge its DNA Business unit, its subsidiary Forte Netservices Oy focusing on corporate data security solutions, and TDC Oy and TDC Hosting Oy, both acquired in early June, into one strong corporate business unit. The reorganisation will also involve DNA's technology and IT units as well as support functions.

The merger of DNA and TDC will fuse separate companies into one integrated provider of data communications, server centre and data security services. In this connection, TDC Hosting Oy and Forte Netservices Oy will be merged with the parent company DNA Ltd on 1 November, and TDC Oy at the turn of the year, according to plan.

The restructuring will also involve the reorganisation of DNA's technology and IT units as well as support functions. Restructuring is estimated to result in staff cuts affecting 150 positions at most. However, the plan simultaneously includes more than 80 new positions with DNA, which will reduce the final number of redundancies.

The corporate business unit created through the process will introduce a uniform DNA Business brand for all products and services by the end of 2014.

“We are about to create a new uniform entity based on the best practices of four different companies, and to secure our competitiveness in increasingly competitive conditions through a clarification of our organisational structure. The primary focus of both DNA and TDC has been to provide a high-quality customer experience for all clients. We intend to continue this approach by offering our clients competitive products and services and reliable customer service,” says CEO Jukka Leinonen.

DNA acquired TDC Oy and TDC Hosting Oy in early June in order to strengthen its existing corporate business functions. TDC is the second-largest provider of corporate networks in Finland, with net sales of EUR 93.6 million in 2013. DNA is a major service provider particularly for small and medium-sized companies, with a total of 55,000 corporate customers. DNA's corporate business net sales totalled EUR 173.0 million in 2013, accounting for approximately 23 per cent of the Group's net sales.

DNA employs a total of some 1,800 professionals. In recent years, the number of DNA employees has increased significantly through various factors, including strengthening of customer service and corporate acquisitions.

Kyberrikolliset kehittävät jatkuvasti uusia, ovelampia tapoja huijata. Moni kansalainen on jo vuosien mittaan oppinut tunnistamaan helpostikin erilaiset huijausviestit ja -puhelut sekä esimerkiksi välttelemään julkisia WiFi-verkkoja. Samaan aikaan ympärillämme on entistä enemmän erikoisempia, mutta kasvavassa käytössä olevia kyberansoja, jotka on hyvä oppia välttämään. DNA:n asiantuntija kertoo vastaan tulleista tapauksista.
