Invitation 16 September: Co-operation between the University of Helsinki and Rovio Learning

The University of Helsinki's Playful Learning Center and Rovio Learning have launched research and development co-operation for new learning solutions. The partners will develop future learning and learning environments, which will be further productised for the growing Finnish education and training export sector. Rovio's first Angry Birds Playground kindergartens have just been opened in China.
The university and Rovio will describe their co-operation and present their new research environment for playful learning on Tuesday 16 September from 9:30 to 11:00 am. The event is for media and invited guests. We will convene in the University of Helsinki's Athena Building, room 302 (Siltavuorenpenger 3 A, Helsinki). The language used at the event will be English.
There will be experts of early childhood education and children present in the learning environment.

The university's Playful Learning Center focuses on research, development and training of playful learning. It operates as an accelerator between the academic research community and companies developing learning solutions. The center offers the latest interdisciplinary research and development environment for researchers, trainers, and companies in the field. It facilitates development of new innovative future learning solutions in collaboration with various actors. The operations of the Center are based on strong Finnish competencies in education and technology.
At the moment, parties involved in the operation include selected Finnish day care centers and schools, and companies focusing on learning solutions. We would like to welcome new participants – both from Finland and abroad and from a variety of disciplines. The operation of the Playful Learning Center is financed by Tekes, the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation, Learning Solutions programme.
