Buster is updating its long-term hit model, the five-metre Buster L. The new boat, which will enter the market for the 2016 season, will be presented to the public at the on-water boat shows to be held during the autumn in Sweden, Finland and Norway.

“The new Buster L is our most important new product for the 2016 season. Since the model has topped sales charts for years, we have invested a great deal in its development. The Buster L’s seaworthiness, versatility, functionality and storage space have all been improved even further,” says Anders Kurtén, Product Development Manager for Buster.

The popular Magnum range of large cruisers, in turn, is to be expanded with an entirely new boat, the Buster Magnum E, which features eye-catching design and a fibreglass deck.

The Magnum E model utilises the tried and tested Buster Cabin hull. Thanks to the deep V angle of the stern, hydrodynamic bow and low centre of gravity, the hull’s driving properties and performance in choppy waters are excellent and the boat can take turns very smoothly. The moderate total weight and highly favourable longitudinal centre of gravity also bring out the sporty features of the hull.

The smaller changes in the range include the updated Buster XL Pro, which features a traditional two-console solution with an intermediate door. The boat is based on the Buster XL model’s spray-rail-free hull, which has received plenty of praise.

In addition to this, the Buster Cabin is now available with a factory-installed bow thruster. Even the highest engine power is now higher: since the 2016 model, the Cabin can be equipped with a motor of up to 250 hp.

Three separate versions of the popular Buster L

In production for over two decades, the Buster L has become a true everyman’s boat in the Nordic countries. The model was last updated at the turn of the millennium. This time, the focus has been on developing the boat’s seaworthiness and driving properties in rough conditions. The features of the new hull also include faster planing, particularly under load.

The basic dimensions of the Buster L remain the same: the five-metre, six-passenger boat can be fitted with a 30–50 hp engine. The Buster L can be transported on a brakeless trailer towed by a normal passenger car.

The boat will continue to be available in two separate models. The L1 model, which only features the driver’s console, boasts plenty of space for cargo and supplies – in the L2 model with two consoles, the windscreens and canvas can shield three people.

The L family also includes the Buster Lx, which has been updated with features reminiscent of larger boats. The benefits of the Lx model, which is 45 kg heavier than its smaller counterpart, include a fixed 53 litre fuel tank along with separate seats for the driver and navigator, which means that three passengers can be seated on the rear seat behind the windscreens. In other words, the canvas cover can shelter up to five people from rain.

About Buster Boats

Buster Boats is the largest designer and manufacturer of aluminium boats in Europe. The majority of the more than 130,000 aluminium boats we have launched on the world’s waters over the past over 60 years are still in use.

Boats carrying the Buster name have been produced since 1976, but Buster’s history began with the first Kello aluminium boat manufactured in 1955.

The Buster range includes 24 boats, of which the under four-metre Buster Mini and the almost ten-metre Buster Phantom are the smallest and largest, respectively. More than half of all boats manufactured are exported.

The manufacturer of Buster boats, Inha Works Ltd, is a subsidiary of Yamaha Motor Europe. Buster Boats boat production is located in Ähtäri, Finland while the company's headquarters and R&D facilities are located in Raisio, southern Finland.

Buster Boats on Euroopan suurin alumiiniveneiden suunnittelija ja valmistaja. Maailman vesille yli 60 vuoden aikana laskemistamme yli 130 000 alumiiniveneestä suurin osa on edelleen käytössä.

Buster-nimellä veneitä on valmistettu vuodesta 1976 alkaen, mutta Busterin historia alkoi jo vuonna 1955 valmistetuista, suomalaisen alumiiniveneteollisuuden aloittaneista Kello-veneistä.

Buster-mallistoon kuuluu 24 venettä, joista pienin on alle nelimetrinen Buster Mini ja suurin lähes kymmenmetrinen Buster Phantom. Tuotannosta yli puolet menee vientiin.

Buster-veneiden valmistaja, Inhan Tehtaat Oy Ab, on Yamaha Motor Europen tytäryhtiö. Yhtiön pääkonttori sekä tuotekehitystoiminnot sijaitsevat Raisiossa ja tuotanto Ähtärissä.
