The Made In Finland Area Exhibits Finnish Furniture Manufacturing - Jukka Rintala’s debut as a furniture designer

Share
Finnish origin is praised in Habitare – Finland’s largest furniture, interior decoration and design fair. The new Made in Finland area exhibits Finnish furniture manufacturing. The impressive architecture of the area has been designed by young furniture designers Jonas Hakaniemi and Janne Tyynismaa who have graduated from the Institute of Design of Lahti. The Made in Finland area features the first furniture designs of the well-known Finnish designer, Jukka Rintala.

The Made in Finland area has been created with the purpose of exhibiting the values of Finnish furniture manufacturing, authentic products and high quality Finnish furniture. The area shows the consumer what Finnish quality consists of and provides a magnificent framework for the success of Finnish furniture manufacturing.

The Made in Finland area gives the visitor a chance to meet Finnish furniture manufacturers and shows why a Finnish piece of furniture lasts from generation to generation. In addition to the designers, the area exhibits large and traditional furniture manufacturers, such as Niemen Tehtaat (est. 1898), P. Rotola Pukkila (est. 1965) and Pohjanmaan Kaluste (est. 1960), along with the up and coming companies that base their business on unique production, such as Valhalla Woods and Woodstock Décor.

At the southern entrance, the visitors are welcomed by Jukka Rintala’s new domain – the divan and the chair designed for the furniture manufacturer Sope. The smooth and creative shapes of the furniture create a dynamic impression in homes as well as in public spaces.  The large print furniture fabric woven by K&H Annala represents the vivid luxury and the lustre of black, gold and white typical of Jukka Rintala. The background produced by Arrazzo that repeats the same print as the furniture adds to the atmosphere of the exhibition area.
