DNA brings stars to Pori to light up the night

For the third time already, DNA will be one of the main partners in SuomiAreena, the summer’s largest public debate forum, held this year on 11-15 July. SuomiAreena is a public event featuring about 170 debates. This year the theme will be Finnish work and the activities of non-governmental organisations. DNA provides the event with extensive data communication connections and large screens all over the town.

The national SuomiAreenaTV, which was launched last year as part of the cooperation between MTV and DNA, will continue to broadcast this summer, and you will once again be able to watch the best parts of SuomiAreena on your own couch. This year you can also watch the channel on Digita’s national terrestrial TV network. In addition, the channel will be available on DNA’s cable TV network and through the DNA TV service as last year. MTV will broadcast programmes for the channel from morning to night during the event week.

“In addition to SuomiAreenaTV, you will also be able to watch more debates than before on the Internet. The data communication connections provided by DNA make it possible to have many more streamed stage shows this summer. This means you will be able to watch many debates on your mobile device wherever you are,” says Mari Haavisto, Executive Producer at MTV:

Top evening entertainment in Pori and for all TV viewers

DNA’s own public event will be arranged on the Purje stage in Pori on Wednesday, 13 July, at 6 pm. In line with SuomiAreena’s theme of the year, the topics to be discussed from every angle will be work in the future and happiness. The event will be hosted by Mikko Kuustonen, with music performed by top artists Anssi Kela, Suvi Teräsniska and Erin. In between music, the audience will be entertained by Finnish author Tuomas Kyrö and Speaker of the Year André Nöel Chaker.

“Last year, DNA brought the nostalgic hit show BumtsiBum to Pori, hosted by Marco Bjurström. Since the event was so popular, we wanted to arrange a similar top-notch evening in Pori also this summer. We were delighted that MTV was interested in our programme and wanted to broadcast it on the MTV channel at prime time on Saturday evening right after the event,” says Vilhelmiina Wahlbeck, Vice President of Corporate Communications at DNA.

DNA’s event “Tähdet Porin illassa” (“Night with stars in Pori”) will be broadcast live on the SuomiAreenaTV channel. The event can also be viewed as a recorded broadcast on the MTV channel on Saturday, 16 July, at 8 pm.

How to watch SuomiAreenaTV

You can find SuomiAreenaTV on channel position 265 in DNA’s cable TV network and on channel position 28 in Digita’s terrestrial network. The channel positions will be available on these networks starting from today, and the actual broadcasting will start on 11 July. Most television sets and set-top boxes will find the channel automatically. If not, run the channel search again. In the DNA TV service, SuomiAreenaTV will be included as a separate TV channel in the channel list of live broadcasts as from 6 July. The DNA TV service is available for phones, tablets and television sets.
