Press release, 28 March 2011
DNA Ltd and G4S, the world's leading provider of security solutions, with operations in 120 countries, have concluded a long-term agreement concerning the use of DNA's network for G4S security services.

The agreement between DNA and G4S comprises both fixed and wireless connections. In total, the solution covers several thousand subscriptions.

‘Safeguarding our customers' remote monitoring sites requires data transfers to be secure too. We have concluded an agreement with DNA concerning the delivery of a secure communications network,' says G4S Technology Manager Anton Stenfors .

The mobile subscriptions covered by the agreement are M2M subscriptions for devices. These enable the remote monitoring of sites from locations such as a central monitoring station. G4S can manage the service package provided by DNA on its own, adding more subscriptions, for instance.

‘DNA's way of operating is based on close partnership with the leaders in various sectors. We serve as G4S's technology partner by providing them with a state-of-the-art, secure network solution that they can use for providing services for their own customers,' says Jukka Leinonen , Vice President for Corporate Business at DNA.

In addition to conventional messaging and data transfer, advanced mobile phone networks can be used in various kinds of service business operations based on communications. These networks can, for example, be used for transmitting alerts, camera feeds, and access data, while also being utilised to generate duplicated and secure connections.

‘Utilisation of M2M technologies is in its early stages but will offer numerous new application possibilities. Security solutions is one of the most rapidly growing fields, making us especially pleased to enter this partnership with G4S,' Leinonen states.

DNA's M2M services are already being used at hundreds of thousands of sites, by a broad range of companies.
