DNA becomes partner in Booxmedia

DNA Ltd has acquired 20 per cent ownership in Booxmedia Oy. As a result of the arrangement, DNA is arranging sales and marketing cooperation with Booxmedia.  

Booxmedia Oy offers its booxTV service, which enables online storage of television content on smart phones and tablets. 

As a result of this business arrangement, DNA is arranging sales and marketing cooperation with Booxmedia. DNA will be offering, for instance, the booxTV service for six months free-of-charge to DNA's select phone and broadband customers in its summer campaign.

The highly innovative BooxTV service produced by the company offers entirely new application modes and usage locations which we believe will bring a lot of added value to our customers. "Cooperation with DNA gives us a splendid opportunity to achieve more visibility and new customers for our brand new booxTV 3.0 service that uses program based recordings. DNA's investment in Booxmedia also gives us an excellent possibility to accelerate the productization of our product development projects, which we believe will establish a new type of milestone not just for mobile TV services but also more comprehensively in terms of how consumers in the future will find, pay for and control content through the utilization of equipment for mobile communication and connection with the Internet," Jukka Sintonen, CEO of Booxmedia Oy, relates. 

BooxTV 3.0, which enables the storage of new programme-specific content, functions on Apple (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch) and Android devices wherever WLAN or 3G connections are available. A Windows Phone version will be published during the summer. 

The value of the business arrangement is not for general release.
