Zound Industries Selects Frontier Silicon for its New Marshall Branded Multi-Room Speakers with Chromecast Built-in, Spotify Connect and Apple Airplay

Share

Frontier Silicon, a leading supplier of consumer audio technologies, announces that its Minuet platform has been chosen by audio pioneer, Zound Industries International AB (“Zound Industries”), to add multi-room functionality, Chromecast built-in, Spotify Connect and Apple AirPlay to three speakers in its range of Marshall branded wireless multi-room speakers.

The three speakers are the Marshall Acton, Marshall Stanmore and Marshall Woburn models, which now come with new design and multi-room technology features.

The Marshall Stanmore Multi-Room and Marshall Woburn Multi-Room offer consumers six ways to connect: Chromecast built-in, Spotify Connect, AirPlay, Bluetooth, RCA input and a 3.5 mm input, whilst the Marshall Acton Multi-Room offers five ways: Chromecast built- in, Spotify Connect, AirPlay, Bluetooth and a 3.5 mm input. As a result, consumers will be able to stream audio via Wi-Fi from over 150 online music services, such as Spotify, Pandora and iHeartRadio.

Zound industries’ Marshall branded Wireless Multi-Room system allows users to play different songs in each room, or bring it all together and play the same song throughout the entire home; there is also the possibility to create a different soundtrack for each individual space.

Each of the speakers has seven one-touch pre-sets, which allow users to select and store favourite playlists, albums, or radio stations.

All of the above can be controlled through the “Marshall” branded app (for iOS and Android), which Frontier Silicon developed on behalf of Zound Industries. The app also allows users to control the Marshall branded Wireless Multi-Room speakers’ EQ settings and alter the intensity of their LED control dials.

The Marshall branded Wireless Multi-Room system has been available for purchase globally since 21 September. The Marshall Acton Multi-Room is priced at $350, the Marshall Stanmore Multi-Room at $450, and the Marshall Woburn Multi-Room at $600.

Frontier Silicon is one of a very small number of solution providers working with Google on this technology. Frontier’s Minuet design platform provides a complete toolkit for brands and manufacturers to develop smart audio devices with Chromecast built-in quickly and cost-effectively.

Anthony Sethill, CEO, Frontier Silicon, said:

“Marshall is a major global audio brand – and we are delighted that our collaboration with Zound Industries has helped bring Chromecast built-in, Spotify, Apple AirPlay and advanced multi-room features to this premium range of speakers.”

Pernilla Ekman, CEO, Zound Industries International, said:

It was important for us to ensure that the Marshall branded Wireless Multi-Room system provides an unparalleled listening experience with multiple ways to connect and listen to music. Frontier has been a dedicated partner, with its highly skilled software team and its mobile app development skills, in delivering this goal. ”
