NDS Launches All-in-One Image Management Solution Designed to Simplify OR Integration

Share

NDS, a subsidiary of Novanta Corporation (“Novanta”), is now shipping its new video image management and acquisition solution: VIMA. Intelligently engineered to serve as the backbone of the modern digital integrated operating room (OR), as well as provide the flexibility to function with varying existing procedure rooms and legacy equipment, VIMA brings a new level of versatility to healthcare imaging.

Certified for near patient use, VIMA allows easy and total control of multiple imaging sources. Out-of-the-box functionality provides a procedure-ready solution, receiving up to ten different image sources, and routing instantly to up to eight display destinations. VIMA enables still capture and video recording, with DICOM interface to PACS and HIS systems for secure data archiving. Designed for easy installation and plug-and-play simplicity, VIMA also enables remote teleconference/telemedicine collaboration, and image storage on an encrypted hard drive for enhanced data security.

VIMA offers fingertip control via large format 15” or 21” touch-screen monitors, including a medical-grade option for near patient installation. Easy-to-use, icon-based menus are designed to process rapid commands with a simple touch or swipe from the user, helping to streamline OR workflow. Engineered with a vendor-neutral architecture for versatility, VIMA can be quickly installed in a variety of procedure room environments with limited impact on cabling requirements.

“NDS is committed to providing healthcare professionals with high-value solutions with a focus on simplicity and ease of use,” said Karim Khadr, President and General Manager of NDS. “By simplifying connectivity challenges, and delivering a robust multi-functional imaging solution, VIMA has the potential to positively impact OR workflow and procedure room turnaround.”

HDBaseT technology enabled, the innovative VIMA product offers long-distance uncompressed video transmission up to 100m without compromise in signal integrity. HDBaseT also supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing auxiliary devices to be powered over the same cable used for transmitting video, thereby reducing the number and complexity of connections.
