President Niinistö to make official working visit to Washington D.C.

President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö will make an official working visit to the United States and will meet President of the United States Donald Trump in Washington D.C. on Wednesday, 2 October 2019.
At the meeting to be held in the White House, the Presidents will discuss opportunities to increase cooperation between Finland and the United States, including European and Arctic security. They will also discuss ways to advance shared interests in commercial and technological cooperation. Following their discussions and working lunch, the Presidents will hold a joint press conference.
The meeting will occur during the 100th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship between Finland and the United States.

Vierailu alkaa Pääskyvuoren koululla, jossa presidentti Stubb tutustuu koulun toimintaan sekä tapaa oppilaita ja henkilökuntaa. Koululta ohjelma jatkuu Turun kauppatorille, jossa presidentti tapaa turkulaisia avoimessa yleisötilaisuudessa klo 14.15 alkaen. Päivän päätteeksi presidentti vierailee lääketeollisuusyhtiö Bayerilla.

Office of the President of the Republic of Finland Press release 46/2025 8 August 2025 President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb will make a visit to Turku on Thursday 14 August 2025. The visit will begin at Pääskyvuoren koulu elementary school, where President Stubb will learn about the school’s basic education curriculum, and meet pupils and staff. The programme will then continue at Turku Market Square, where the President will meet locals at a public event starting at 14.15. The day will conclude with the President's visit to the life science company Bayer.

Tornbergia syyskuusta 2024 lähtien sijaistanut Anna-Mari Wong Hämäläinen siirtyy takaisin ulkoasiainhallintoon ja on aloittanut edustuston päällikön sijaisena Suomen pysyvässä edustustossa Genevessä 1.8.2025 alkaen.
