Renewed Cyber Security Nordic Competition is opened – First keynote speakers confirmed

The Cyber Security Nordic Competition seeks innovative solutions and services in the field of cybersecurity that influence the development, growth, and internationalisation of the industry. Cyber Security Nordic is arranged in collaboration with the Finnish Information Security Cluster (FISC).

The Business Manager, Marcus Bergström, emphasizes the significance of cybersecurity and its impact on society. "Cybersecurity is a paramount issue that resonates with everyone, as it encompasses the well-being of individuals, organizations, and global security as a whole. Through this award, we aim to foster innovation and shine a spotlight on those who are setting the course for others, " states Bergström.

The competition is open until the 24. September to a cybersecurity company, team or organisation, operating and registered in Finland. The finalists for pitching will be announced in the beginning of October.

The competition jury will select the entrants that will go through to the final by 24 Sept, and will, in their selection, pay attention to the potential impact and scalability of the entry. The finalists selected by the jury will present their product or service in a pitch competition on the Cyber Security Nordic main stage on 7 November 2023, and the jury will then select the winner. The winner will receive a €10,000 prize, donated by the Finnish Fair Foundation. 

Cyber Security Nordic 2023: First Keynote Speakers Confirmed

Technology and digitalisation are changing people's behaviour, business practices, and market dynamics. This two-day event will explore cybersecurity from the perspectives of both businesses and public administration. The speeches will cover topics such as the impact of digitalisation on democracy and technology regulations, the increasing diversity of cyber-attacks, and approaches to risk management for critical functions of companies and societies.

The first keynote speakers for Cyber Security Nordic 2023 have been announced. Max Schrems, the lawyer and activist who took legal action against Facebook (Meta) for privacy violations, will discuss data transfers and individuals' rights to their own data. Colm Murphy, Senior Cyber Security & Privacy Advisor at Huawei's Global Cybersecurity and Privacy Office, will address the collective responsibility for cybersecurity in the age of digitalisation.

Valentino De Sousa, Europe Cyber Threat Intelligence Lead at Accenture, will explore the cybersecurity landscape, trends, incidents, and threats in the Nordic region. Member of the European Parliament, Henna Virkkunen, will open her speech by discussing the regulation of information security in Europe.

Cyber Security Nordic is an event aimed at cybersecurity professionals, business leaders, and experts. The event will take place on 7–8th November 2023 at the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre for the fifth time.

The Cyber Security Nordic event and competition are organised by the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre in cooperation with FISC ry. The event's strategic partners include Accenture, HCLSoftware, Huawei, Microsoft, Nixu, and Trend Micro. Cyber Security Nordic will be held for the fifth time at the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Centre on 7th-8th November 2023.
