The multidisciplinary exhibition will feature works from various fields of art, with Hejazi bringing to the jury his diverse expertise in participatory performing arts, game art, and social impact through art. Amos Rex’ Generation is a triennially held group exhibition that features a broad selection of works by artists between the ages 15 and 23. The works are chosen by a jury from open-call submissions. The application period opens on 1 October 2024.

Harold Hejazi has been invited to chair the jury selecting works for the Generation exhibition at Amos Rex in 2026. Hejazi brings broad expertise to the jury as an artist and educator; working extensively in participatory performing arts, game design, and with community engagement. Based in Helsinki, Hejazi has explored the use of video games in theatre, addressing issues related to race, marginalisation, and contemporary multiculturalism.
– It's time for the next generation of artists to rise. I look forward to works that confront the social and political challenges of our times. I want to see fearless, radical, and innovative work that provokes engagement and reflection, says Hejazi.
Besides Hejazi, the jury includes Amos Rex’s Museum Director Kieran Long, Assistant Curator Krista Mamia, Curator of Public Programmes Laura Porola, Curator Terhi Tuomi, and artists from the Generation 2023 exhibition Aino Kontinen and Yoonsik Kim.
The application period is open from 1 October to 31 October 2024. Individual artists or members of working groups born between 2001 and 2009, who are active in Finland are eligible to apply. Approximately 40 artists will be selected to participate, and the exhibition welcomes artists from various artistic disciplines. The Generation triennial will be held for the fourth time in 2026.
All artists selected to participate in Generation 2026 are eligible to apply for project grants for the exhibition from Föreningen Konstsamfundet.
