INDIA – Leading DC fast-charging solutions provider Kempower has delivered its EV fast-charging solutions to a public charging hub in Hyderabad, India. The charging hub is operated by GLIDA, formerly Fortum Charge & Drive India, and Kempower acted as one of the EV charging solutions providers for the hub.

Kempower has collaborated with charging point operator GLIDA to open a new 3,700 square meter charging hub in Shamshabad, near the Hyderabad airport in India. This cutting-edge facility, one of the largest in the area, can simultaneously serve 102 electric vehicles (EVs). The Shamshabad hub is the third public charging hub in India to be equipped with Kempower’s charging systems. The first installation was in Karnal at Chandigarh-Delhi Highway, followed by DLF Cyberpark in Gurugram.

“We are excited to deliver our fast-charging solutions to the Indian public in collaboration with GLIDA. We look forward to developing the charging network in India, in partnership with GLIDA, to provide a superior charging experience for everyone driving EVs and support the e-mobility in India,” comments Max Davis, Head of Sales, APAC from Kempower.

The charging hub is equipped with the Kempower Satellite Charging System, comprising one Kempower Power Unit and 6 Kempower Satellites. The modular and scalable charging system dynamically distributes power to each charge point. Combined with Kempower ChargEye cloud-based charging management system, the system allows GLIDA to optimize power distribution and maximize the number of vehicles that can be charged simultaneously, ensuring efficient use of the available power capacity.

“The installation of Kempower Satellite Charging System is just the beginning of redefining how India moves, and we will continue to commission more superfast charging sites in the future. This latest charging technology will enhance the seamless experience for EV users, encouraging wider adoption of electric vehicles. By investing in the future today, we are gearing up to set a new standard for public EV charging infrastructure, putting India’s electric mobility segment at par with global technology and advancements,” said Awadhesh K. Jha, Executive Director, from GLIDA.
