Kela’s Malmi service point closed during holiday season
Kela’s Malmi service point will be closed between 24 December 2024 and 7 January 2025. The nearest service points in Itäkeskus, Kamppi and Tikkurila will be open on weekdays from 9.00–12.00. Almost all Kela-related matters can be handled online or over the phone.

Kela’s Malmi service point will be closed between 24 December 2024 and 7 January 2025. The address of the service point is Soidintie 4 b in Helsinki. The Malmi service point will be open again as of 8 January on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.00–12.00 and by appointment. Contact Kela's telephone customer service to make an appointment.
The last weeks in December and the first few weeks of the year are often very busy at Kela. Most customers choose to contact Kela online or by phone. The staff of Kela’s Malmi service point will serve customers in Kela’s phone service during the end of December and the beginning of January.
“We want to ensure access to our phone service during the end of December and the beginning of the new year, because this is a time when many customers need to contact Kela. The other service points in the Helsinki area have the same opening hours as usual,” says Martta Pukki, Head of Service Centre at Kela.
The nearest Kela service points to Malmi are in Kamppi and Itäkeskus in Helsinki and Tikkurila in Vantaa.
These service points are open Monday–Friday from 9.00–12.00:
- Itäkeskus service point, Turunlinnantie 6 A
- Kamppi service point, Salomonkatu 17
- Tikkurila service point, Vernissakatu 4.
Kela service points are closed during Christmas (24-26 December), on New Year’s Day (1 January) and at Epiphany (6 January).
Most Kela-related matters can be handled online or over the phone
Kela has an online customer service, OmaKela, which is available in Finnish and Swedish. Customers can use this e-service to apply for benefits, send supporting documents and notify Kela of changes. In OmaKela, customers can also check the status of their application and the payment dates for their benefits. Customers log in with online banking codes, mobile ID or an electronic ID card at www.kela.fi/omakela (in Finnish).
Kela’s telephone customer service offers personal advice on using OmaKela and on how to apply for benefits. It is also possible to make a verbal application by phone if the customer is unable to use other customer service channels. The telephone customer service is available every working day 9.00–16.00. On New Year’s Eve, 31 December, Kela’s telephone service is open 9.00–13.00 and service for customers with an urgent need of social assistance is available until 16.00.
