The Päijät-Häme wellbeing services county has selected DNA as its telecommunication service provider
DNA will provide the Päijät-Häme wellbeing services county with a closed telecommunications network, internet connections and LAN services. DNA won the tender for this service package thanks to its comprehensive service management and high-quality, extensive network.

The Päijät-Häme wellbeing services county and DNA have been working together for a long time. DNA currently provides connections and voice communication services between the offices of the Päijät-Häme wellbeing services county. In early 2025, DNA won the latest tender for telecommunication services for the Päijät-Häme wellbeing services county and will now provide the county with an extensive service package in addition to the current services.
The package to be delivered includes, for instance, the operation of a closed telecommunications network and LAN devices. A closed telecommunications network is isolated from public networks, making it secure and reliable. Furthermore, the network enables fast and uninterrupted data transfer between different actors in the wellbeing services county. Service delivery will begin before the summer, with deployment during 2025.
"DNA's offer best met our needs and expectations. This procurement is a major step towards a more efficient and secure telecommunications environment in our wellbeing services county, enabling us to provide better services to our customers," says Teemu Mäkelä, CIO at Päijät-Häme wellbeing services county.
Wellbeing services counties are tasked with organising social, healthcare and rescue services for the population in their area. The provision of these services calls for highly reliable and secure telecommunication services, as digital data transfer plays a key role in patient and customer care, management and service continuity.
"It's great to be able to implement this telecommunication services package in the Päijät-Häme wellbeing services county. These counties are demanding operating environments where services must be reliable and of a high quality in all circumstances in order to safeguard the continuity of operations. We provide the wellbeing services county with comprehensive and extensive service management and reporting. In addition, we’re stepping up our investments in expanding our fibre-optic network in this already strong geographical area," says Anna-Mari Ylihurula, Senior Vice President, Corporate Business at DNA.

Perheissä, joissa lapselle on päätetty hankkia puhelin yhteydenpitoa varten, on entistä useammin päädytty kellopuhelimeen. Kellopuhelimella on helppo rajoittaa lapsen älylaitteilla viettämää aikaa, mutta myös lykätä lapsen oman älylaitteen hankintaa.
School Survey: parents concerned about young children’s smartphone use – screen time is now being restricted at an accelerating rate7.8.2025 09:00:00 EEST | Press release
According to a School Survey commissioned by DNA, most parents limit the amount of time that children aged 5–12 can spend on their phones in one way or another. However, in spite of this, just over a third of 5–12-year-olds spend 2–4 hours a day on their phones. More and more families who want their children to have a phone for contact purposes have decided to get a smartwatch meant for kids. A smartwatch is an easy way to both limit the amount of time a child spends on smart devices and to postpone the purchase of their first smartphone.
