Press release 36/2025
26 May 2025

On Friday 30 May 2025, President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb will move with his spouse Suzanne Innes-Stubb to the Presidential Summer Residence Kultaranta. During the summer, the President will be working mainly at Kultaranta. The most significant event of the early summer season will be the Kultaranta Talks hosted by President Stubb on 16–17 June.

This summer, Kultaranta Park will feature a sculpture exhibition entitled Layers, organised in collaboration with the Alfred Kordelin Foundation. The exhibition opens on Friday 30 May and will be open to the public until 31 August. It showcases works by seven contemporary sculptors who primarily work with wood and stone. Thematically, this summer’s exhibition ties in with the nature-inspired exhibitions of 2021 and 2022, which explored animal imagery and the organic shapes of plants.

The City of Naantali will host a welcome reception for the presidential couple at the Kilta jetty in the marina on Friday 30 May at 18.00. During the reception, President Stubb and Mrs Innes-Stubb will also meet the public.

Following a two-year pause, the Naantali Music Festival is set to organise a park concert at Kultaranta. This year’s concert will take place on Friday 6 June. The concert will feature the Dallapé Orchestra with Juha Hostikka as its soloist. Founded in 1925, Dallapé is Europe’s longest-running entertainment orchestra and is now celebrating its 100th anniversary. For more information about the concert, visit the Naantali Music Festival’s website.

During the summer, visitors can enjoy free access to the Kultaranta garden and sculpture exhibition every Friday from 18.00 to 20.00. In addition, Visit Naantali organises guided tours of the park area. For more information about these guided tours and their schedules, please visit the Visit Naantali website.

Located on Luonnonmaa Island in Naantali, Kultaranta has been the summer residence of the President of the Republic of Finland since 1920. The main building of Kultaranta, a granite castle completed in 1916, was commissioned by businessman and enrepreneur Alfred Kordelin and designed by architect Lars Sonck. The Kultaranta estate includes a large park and a kitchen garden where flowers and vegetables are grown. Renovation work of the main building and park at Kultaranta was completed in October 2024.
