Share

In line with its strategy, GRK is expanding its operations to southern Sweden. GRK has appointed the managers of its new regional organisation: Lars Henriksson has been appointed as Regional Director for Southern Sweden, Jacob Westerlund as Strategy and Business Director and Muhassad Dhadad as Director of Tendering. In addition to forming the new regional organisation, GRK will open a new office in Stockholm to support building and growing the regional organisation in southern Sweden.

GRK is an infrastructure construction group operating in Finland, Sweden and Estonia. In accordance with its strategy, GRK’s goal is profitable growth, the continuation of which is also sought through geographical expansion. GRK’s business has grown significantly in Sweden in recent years, and the company has a strong foothold in northern Sweden.

With the new recruitments and the opening of the Stockholm office, GRK is seeking new projects, especially in southern Sweden, where the infrastructure construction market is growing.

Building a new regional organisation to commence

Lars Henriksson has been recruited as Regional Director to build the new regional organisation in southern Sweden, together with Jacob Westerlund and Muhassad Dhadad. Henriksson and Westerlund will report to the CEO of GRK Sverige AB and Dhadad to Henriksson.

Henriksson will join GRK as Regional Director on 1 September 2025. Henriksson has previously worked for the infrastructure construction company Itinera, where he has been building a similar organisation in Sweden. Westerlund, who has been appointed as Business and Strategy Director, assumed his post on 11 August 2025. He joined GRK from NYAB. Dhadad, appointed to head tender calculation, joined  GRK on 18 August  2025. He has previously worked at Infrakraft.

Growth is also pursued through acquisitions

GRK seeks growth in Sweden both organically and inorganically. Approximately 5 to 10 new infrastructure experts will be swiftly recruited for the Stockholm office. In addition, GRK is also constantly investigating the possibility of acquisitions to expand its operations.

"Our goal is to continue our profitable growth in Sweden, where we have a track record of implementing complex infrastructure projects. With the new recruitments, we will acquire expertise that will allow us to compete for major industry and alliance projects in southern Sweden, among other things," says Mika Mäenpää, CEO of GRK Sverige AB.

In January–June 2025, approximately 43 per cent of GRK’s revenue was generated in Sweden, where revenue increased significantly to approximately EUR 174 million.
