Parking garage fire impact on Gofore's customer work was minimal

The fire and its extinguishing efforts affected a relatively small number of Gofore employees, as a large portion of Gofore's Tampere crew was either working at customer premises or working remotely on the day of the fire. The evacuated Gofore employees were able to retrieve their work tools from the office later on Wednesday, accompanied by authorities. 

"Our assessment is that the fire's impact on customer projects was minimal. The most important thing is that we avoided injuries of our personnel or other people. Our experience was that the authorities communicated well with Gofore on the matter," says Mikael Nylund, CEO of Gofore Oyj.  

"It is not yet known when we can return to work at the headquarters. For the time being, we have arranged for Goforeans to work at the Tampere office of Huld, a company that we acquired a month ago. Additionally, many will continue to work either at customer locations or remotely as usual," Nylund says. 

There is no information yet on possible damage to the office premises. Gofore trusts the work of A. Ahlström Kiinteistöt Oy, the owner the building, to clarify this. Gofore employees' computers or work tools were not damaged.  

Gofore does not have confirmed information on the exact cause of the fire. Authorities will be able to comment on the matter as the investigation progresses.  

Gofore issued a brief statement about the fire shortly after it broke out, stating that the company would provide more information if the situation had significant impacts on operations. Due to the extensive media coverage the fire received, Gofore decided to communicate, even though the company assessed the fire's impact on e.g., customer work to be minimal.
