Sweco has signed an agreement to acquire Fimpec Group
If completed, the acquisition will increase Sweco's organisation by around 400 employees and strengthen Sweco's position as an expert in consulting, engineering as well as project and construction management, especially in energy and industry sectors. The closing of the transaction is subject to the approval of the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority.

Fimpec is an expert in consulting, engineering as well as project and construction management, specialising in the implementation of demanding investment projects from project development to the implementation phase, especially in energy and industry projects. Fimpec’s expertise include projects related to clean energy, hydrogen, bio- and circular economy, forest industry, and batteries and critical minerals. Fimpec employs around 400 experts, most of whom work in Finland, and its turnover in 2024 was EUR 50.5 million. In addition to Finland, Fimpec has offices in Sweden, Germany, and Estonia.
"Fimpec's strength lies in the implementation of projects related to the energy transition as industry and energy sectors move towards cleaner, more flexible and more cost-effective solutions. Our design services cover all phases from pre-design to implementation. In terms of project and construction management, Fimpec is primarily known for carrying out large industrial investment projects," says Jukka Nieminen, CEO of Fimpec Group.

Sweco's sustainability consultants studied the potential of carbon dioxide removal in Finland.
