Kempower partners with Catec to supply Dubai’s first public EV charging hub with the Kempower Satellite charging system. The 550kW installation is the first of its kind in the region, designed to provide fast and efficient EV charging for BYD’s B2B customers, primarily limousine operators, supporting the city’s growing e-mobility market.

Located in one of the most prestigious areas of Dubai, the new charging hub for BYD fleet customers in Dubai is equipped with Kempower’s modular and scalable Kempower Satellite charging system, comprising of one 550kW Kempower Power Unit and 10 Kempower Satellites. This marks Kempower’s debut public installation in the region, offering a reliable and user-friendly charging experience for the growing EV market in the UAE. The UAE aims for net-zero emissions by 2050, with EVs making up 50% of vehicles by then.

EV charging in Dubai

Dubai is at the forefront of the UAE’s e-mobility transformation, driven by ambitious government initiatives and private sector investments. The city’s Green Mobility Strategy 2030 aims to accelerate EV adoption by expanding charging infrastructure and providing incentives for EV drivers. Dubai Electricity and Water Authority DEWA’s "EV Green Charger" initiative has played a crucial role in growing the number of public charging stations, ensuring accessibility for both residents and visitors. With a strong focus on sustainability, Dubai continues to lead the region in promoting clean energy solutions and building a robust EV ecosystem.

To execute the project, Catec, a leading EV infrastructure specialist, collaborated closely with Kempower to design and implement a solution tailored to the demands of fleet charging. The configuration developed for BYD’s limousine fleet allows for dynamic power distribution across the site, optimizing charging time and enabling the hub to accommodate multiple vehicles simultaneously.

“With the combined efforts of Kempower and Catec, we are setting new standards for charging infrastructure in the UAE. This initiative not only supports the growth of fleet electrification but also demonstrates how the solution tackles heat management—a critical challenge for EV charging in high-temperature environments across the region,” says Carlo Cecchi, Director, New Markets from Kempower.

Alignment with Dubai’s fleet electrification mandates

This deployment directly supports Dubai’s regulatory objectives for fleet electrification. The RTA (Roads & Transport Authority) mandate requires that 90 % of limousine fleets be hybrid or electric by 2026, with a wider strategy targeting 100 % electric or hydrogen conversion by 2040 – in line with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 goals and Dubai’s commitment to reduce emissions by 50 % by 2030. By enabling limousine operators to transition to clean mobility at scale, the site plays an essential role in helping the industry meet these ambitious targets.

The Dubai hub represents a significant milestone in the UAE’s sustainability journey as the country continues to invest in EV infrastructure to support its growing fleet of electric vehicles. Kempower’s Power Unit and Satellite system were selected for their flexibility, scalability, and ability to seamlessly adapt to future expansion.

The deployment marks the first of its kind in the region and establishes a new benchmark for public charging sites powered by Kempower’s innovative solutions.

Kempower ja Catec toimittavat ensimmäisen latausaseman BYD:n yritysasiakkaille Dubaissa21.10.2025 10:00:00 EEST | Tiedote

Kempower toimittaa yhteistyössä Catecin kanssa Dubain ensimmäisen julkisen sähköautojen latausaseman Kempowerin satelliittijärjestelmällä. Alueen ensimmäisen julkisen latausaseman 550 kW:n laitteisto on suunniteltu tarjoamaan nopeaa ja tehokasta sähköauton latausta BYD:n yritysasiakkaille, pääasiassa limusiinipalvelujen tarjoajille, ja tukemaan Dubain kasvavaa sähköisen liikenteen markkinaa.

Kempower delivers distributed megawatt charging solution to Norway’s largest grocery retailer ASKO’s depot in Vestby16.10.2025 13:00:40 EEST | Press release

Kempower is supporting ASKO, Norway’s largest grocery retailer and one of the largest Norwegian transport companies, in becoming fossil-free in its own transport. With Kempower’s distributed charging system, ASKO’s trucks can charge at up to 1.2 MW, enabling dynamic charging between two MCS and four CCS2 high-power Kempower Mega Satellites – fast enough to fill the batteries during the drivers' statutory rest period of 45 minutes. The facility is the first of its kind in Norway.

Kempower toimittaa hajautetun megawattilatausjärjestelmän Norjan suurimman päivittäistavaratukkukauppa ASKO:n rekkavarikolle Vestbyssä16.10.2025 13:00:00 EEST | Tiedote

Kempower tukee Norjan suurinta päivittäistavaratukkukauppa ASKO:a tavoitteessa luopua fossiilisista polttoaineista omissa kuljetuksissaan. ASKO on myös yksi Norjan suurimmista kuljetusyrityksistä. Kempowerin hajautetun megawattilatausjärjestelmän avulla ASKO:n rekat voivat ladata jopa 1,2 MW:n teholla. Kempowerin latausjärjestelmä mahdollistaa dynaamisen latauksen kahden MCS- ja neljän CCS2- Kempower Mega Satellite -lataussatelliitin välillä suurteholatauksella, jotta rekkojen akut täyttyvät kuljettajien lakisääteisen 45 minuutin lepoajan aikana. Latausasema on ensimmäinen laatuaan Norjassa.

Kempower jatkaa hajautetun sähköautolataamisen johtajana laajentamalla dynaamisen tehonjaon 12 latauspisteeseen MORE Plugs -ratkaisulla7.10.2025 09:30:00 EEST | Tiedote
