Sweco Finland Q3 2025: Growth and stable profitability continued
Today Sweco published its interim report for the third quarter of 2025. Sweco Finland's net sales and profit improved compared to the corresponding period last year. Several significant projects were also won during the quarter.

Sweco Finland's net sales for the third quarter were EUR 70.3 million, an increase of 6.9 per cent compared to the corresponding period last year. EBITA was EUR 6.4 million, compared to EUR 6.1 million in the corresponding period in 2024. The EBITA margin was 9.1 per cent, which was at the same level as in the previous year.
"Sweco operates in all sectors of society in the built environment and industry. We are particularly strong in the energy and industry transitions, as well as in solutions for sustainable transportation and urban development. In these areas, we continued to work actively with clients also during the third quarter," says Thomas Hietto, CEO of Sweco Finland.
At the beginning of October, Sweco signed an agreement to acquire Fimpec Group. When completed, the acquisition will increase Sweco's organisation by approximately 400 employees and strengthen Sweco's position as an expert in consulting, engineering, as well as project and construction management, especially in energy and industry sectors. The transaction is subject to the approval of the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority.
"Acquisitions are a way for us to promote growth and competitiveness in the long term and to expand our expertise in strategically important areas," Hietto says.
During the third quarter, Sweco Finland won several significant projects.
The food company Fazer is building a chocolate factory in Lahti, Finland. The investment of approximately EUR 400 million is the largest in Fazer’s history and is also very significant for the Finnish food industry. The factory will be designed to operate without direct CO2 emissions through a comprehensive energy cycle and electrification. The efficient use of raw materials enabled by the technology will also significantly reduce manufacturing waste. Sweco is responsible for the overall design of food factory, which is scheduled for completion in 2028.
Sweco has been selected as the architectural designer of the Kaukajärvi school in Tampere. The current school building in Kaukajärvi will be replaced by a new building, including school, daycare centre, library and youth facilities. The new building will better meet the needs of users. In addition, energy efficiency, a long life cycle, and the health and safety of the premises have been set as goals for the design. Construction will be carried out in two phases, and the new school building is expected to be completed in 2030. In addition to the main and architectural design, Sweco is responsible for the landscape and interior design.
Sweco has been selected to design the concept for a circular economy facility developed by Wega Group in Oripää municipality, Finland. At an industrial scale the facility will annually process 600,000 tonnes of material, primarily manure from pigs, cattle, and poultry, as well as other agricultural biomass like grass and straw. Once operational, it will produce liquefied biogas (200 GWh) and e-methane (160 GWh) for heavy traffic, maritime transport, and industry. A key goal is to significantly reduce nutrient loads in the Archipelago Sea. The design work will be completed in 2025.
