President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb will pay a visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on 20–21 November 2025. The visit celebrates 50 years of diplomatic relations between Finland and the UAE.
The programme will begin on Thursday 20 November in Dubai, where President Stubb will visit the Dubai Airshow 2025 and meet representatives of leading technology companies and investment firms.
In the afternoon, the programme will continue in Abu Dhabi, where President Stubb and members of the accompanying Finnish business delegation will meet key UAE industry leaders and government officials. The President will also participate in a discussion event on comprehensive security organised by Business Finland, where he will give a speech.
During the day, President Stubb will meet several foreign and security policy leaders, including the UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
A reception hosted by the Embassy of Finland in Abu Dhabi will conclude the day.
On Friday 21 November, President Stubb will meet with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. The discussions will focus on bilateral and commercial relations between Finland and the UAE, regional security issues in the Middle East and Africa, global challenges and Russia's illegal war of aggression in Ukraine.
The President will also visit Khalifa University, where he will meet with students and deliver a lecture on geopolitics and the transformation of the multilateral system. In addition, he will meet with foreign policy experts at Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy.
The delegation of the President will include Minister of Economic Affairs Sakari Puisto and a business delegation comprising Kone, Nokia, Peikko, Temet, SuperPark, Planmeca, Konecranes, Elematic, ReOrbit, Patria, ICEYE, Unikie, Sensofusion, Wärtsilä, EcoUp and Koppö Energia / CPC Finland.
The previous President of the Republic of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, last undertook a working visit to the UAE in 2015.

Presidenttipari vieraili tiistaina 9. joulukuuta Oulunkylän kuntoutuskeskuksessa sotainvalidien, veteraanien ja veteraanisukupolven edustajien joulujuhlassa. Presidentti Stubb piti tilaisuudessa puheen, jossa hän toi esille sotasukupolven edustajien poikkeuksellisen sinnikkyyden. ”Raskaasta taakasta huolimatta ette lannistuneet, vaan säilytitte uskonne tulevaisuuteen. On Tuesday 9 December, the Presidential couple visited the Christmas celebration of disabled veterans, war veterans and representatives of the veteran generation at the Oulunkylä Rehabilitation Centre in Helsinki. At the event, President Stubb gave a speech in which he highlighted the exceptional perseverance of the war generation. “Despite the heavy burden, you were never discouraged but retained your faith in the future.
