The evening is hosted by popular TV personalities Anniina Valtonen and Totti Toivonen.
What is it like to host the Ultimate Greatest Christmas Carols sing-along event on the eve of Christmas Eve?
“Christmas is my favourite and most important holiday. I’m looking forward to the Christmas cheer, fantastic performances and a mind-blowing sing-along,” says Anniina Valtonen.
“I hope we can bring the Christmas cheer to everyone and help people in need.”
“Christmas carols and the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission’s Greatest Christmas Carols events are part of my Christmas tradition,” continues Totti Toivonen. “Christmas carols are what creates Christmas for me. Even if there is nothing christmassy around you or you don’t have the energy to do anything Christmas, Christmas carols definitely brings you the Christmas Spirit.”
“I hope that this concert can help people wind down for Christmas and bring the Christmas spirit, warmth, and help to everyone in all kinds of situations. I’ve got children myself, which is why the beneficiary of the fundraising – the world’s children – is so important to me.”
The Bishop of the Diocese of Espoo, Kaisamari Hintikka, Christmas Radio (Jouluradio in Finnish) and the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission (Felm) will also be at the Espoo Metro Areena. The event will be trilingual: partly in Finnish, Swedish and English.
We ask the audience to arrive at Espoo Metro Areena on time. The arena doors open at 5:30 p.m. and seating access opens at 5:45 p.m. The opening speech will take place at 6:15 p.m. Due to the live broadcast, we ask that the audience is seated by 6:45 p.m.
