New features in the MyKanta application – for viewing laboratory test results, doctor’s records and new prescriptions
The MyKanta application now meets client needs even better than before In addition to renewing prescriptions, the application now also enables the viewing of doctor’s or nurse’s records and laboratory test results.

MyKanta is a nationwide service where everyone can view their own social welfare and healthcare data. In autumn 2025, MyKanta was also launched as the MyKanta application, which was a request made by users. Now you can use the application to renew prescriptions, read what your doctor or nurse has recorded in the system during your appointment, and check blood test results, for example. You can download the application free of charge from the App Store or Google Play.
“Customers have been satisfied with the MyKanta application and have given positive feedback on it, for example, in the app stores. Now that the application has all the most popular features of MyKanta, it will help even more people in different personal circumstances,” notes Nessa Mehrabipour-Hyttinen, a development specialist at Kela’s Kanta Services.
MyKanta has more than a million monthly users, most of whom use the service on their phone or tablet.
More long-awaited features are on the way
New features will be added to the MyKanta application in stages. In early 2026, the wish of many MyKanta users will come true when the application will begin notifying them of new laboratory test results and doctor’s records. In addition, the application will begin reminding people aged 25, 45 and 65 of booster vaccinations for tetanus and diphtheria.
“The application’s technology also allows the sending of other reminders. In the future, the application could, for example, remind people about their seasonal influenza vaccination, but no decision has been made on this at the national level. The feedback from MyKanta users is very valuable as we work together with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare to decide on what functions to add to the application in the future,” Mehrabipour-Hyttinen says
The purpose of the MyKanta application is to ensure seamless digitalisation of social welfare and healthcare services nationwide. Kela’s Kanta Services are developing the application not only in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health and the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, but also with other stakeholders, such as the wellbeing services counties.
