Aleksi Grym appointed Head of Payment Systems Department

Aleksi Grym, Lic.Soc.Sc, MSc (Econ. & Bus. Adm.), has been appointed Head of Department at the Bank of Finland’s Payment Systems Department. The appointment is for a five-year term effective from 1 March 2026.

Grym has been Head of the Fintech Division in the Bank of Finland’s Payment Systems Department since 2023, and before that he served as Principal Adviser and in other specialist positions at the Bank of Finland, starting in 2016. Prior to this he served in international expert and managerial positions in the private sector.

The Payment Systems Department produces central bank services for cash supply and has responsibility for reliable and efficient payments as well as payment and settlement system infrastructure and the further development of these. The Department is responsible for preparing the Bank of Finland’s policy on payment systems and for the analysis of payments technologies.
