Joining ABB marks an exciting next stage in Netcontrol’s journey

HELSINKI, FINLAND. December 18, 2025 - Netcontrol is excited to announce that its shareholders and ABB have signed an agreement under which ABB will acquire 100 percent of shares of Netcontrol. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Following completion, Netcontrol will be integrated into ABB’s Electrification Business Area, Distribution Solutions division.

Headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, Netcontrol develops and delivers grid automation products, systems and services for electrical distribution system operators (DSOs), industrial plants and infrastructure customers. The company’s portfolio includes SCADA and ADMS solutions for grid control, substation automation, and RTUs for primary and secondary substations, complemented by engineering, commissioning, and SaaS offerings that support customers from design through to operation.

Netcontrol serves hundreds of customers across the Nordics, the UK and the Baltics, with more than 100 skilled professionals based in Finland, Sweden, Norway, the UK and Latvia.

Once the transaction is completed, Netcontrol’s products and services are expected to be integrated into ABB Distribution Solutions’ global portfolio and offered through ABB’s sales channels.
