Taaleri SolarWind III Fund reaches final close at EUR 630 million
The Taaleri SolarWind III Fund, Taaleri Energia’s sixth renewable energy fund, has reached final close with EUR 630 million in total commitments (including EUR 74 million in co-investment commitments).
The Fund has a value-add investment strategy to acquire, develop, contract, construct, operate and exit a portfolio of utility-scale onshore wind farms, solar parks and battery energy storage system (BESS) assets. The Fund’s main target markets are the Nordics, the Baltics, Poland, Southeast Europe and Spain, with selective investments in the United States (Texas).
The Fund has to date made investment commitments totalling EUR 360 million, including:
- 50 development stage wind, solar and BESS projects (7 GW)
- BESS, Finland (36 MWh, operational)
- BESS, Texas (200 MWh, under construction)
- Wind, Serbia (154 MW, under construction)
- Solar, Finland (129 MWp, under construction)
- Wind, Latvia (112 MW, under construction)
- Wind + BESS, Lithuania (45 MW + 36 MWh, under construction)
The Fund is expected to be fully invested in the next 18-24 months.

The Fund’s investors include Erste Group Bank AG, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Investment Fund, Ilmarinen Mutual Pension Insurance Company, KBC Verzekeringen (in partnership with EIF), SmartCap, Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company, VBV Pensionskasse, and other European institutional investors.
Finnish pension funds, foundations, endowments, family offices and individual investors are also strong supporters of the Fund, investing through a fund managed by Aktia Bank.
The Fund is classified as an Article 9 fund under the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). The Fund benefits from support from the European Union under the InvestEU Fund and SmartCap’s Green Fund is financed by the European Union NextGenerationEU Recovery and Resilience Facility funds.

Tuulipuisto sijaitsee noin 120 kilometriä koilliseen Riiasta. Taaleri SolarWind III -rahasto ja Lords LB Asset Managementin hallinnoima rahasto AEI omistavat hankkeen yhdessä. TAALERI ENERGIA | PRESS RELEASE | 13 OCTOBER 2025 AT 12:00 (EEST) Taaleri SolarWind III Fund invests in a 112 MW wind farm in Latvia Taaleri Energia’s SolarWind III Fund has invested in Smiltene, a wind farm located in Latvia, approximately 120 kilometres northeast of Riga. The Fund and AEI, a fund managed by Lords LB Asset Management, are joint owners of the project. Construction work started in Q4 2024, and the wind farm is expected to reach full operational status in Q1 2027. The Smiltene wind farm will consist of 16 Nordex 7.0 MW turbines. The wind farm is expected to generate approximately 330 GWh of green electricity and contribute to avoiding an estimated 64,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions each year of operation. Hankkeella on kaikki tarvittavat luvat, ja sen rakentaminen on alkanut. Hallanvahdin aurinkovoimala koostuu kaksipuolisista paneeleista sekä aurinkoa seuraavista telineistä, ja sen odotetaan aloittavan sähkötuotanto vuoden 2026 puolivälissä. Aurinkovoimalan vuotuinen sähköntuotanto on noin 140 gigawattituntia ja sen tuottama uusiutuva energia mahdollistaa vuosittain noin 29 300 tonnin kasvihuonekaasupäästöjen vähentämisen. The project has reached Ready-to-Build status, with construction ongoing and full operations expected by mid 2026. The Hallanvahti solar farm will consist of bifacial panels and single-axis trackers. With an estimated annual electricity production of approximately 140 GWh, the solar farm will generate enough green electricity to supply around 18,000 households and facilitate the reduction of approximately 29,300 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually throughout its operating life. TAALERI ENERGIA LEHDISTÖTIEDOTE 23.9.2024 KLO 18.53 Taaleri SolarWind III -rahasto sijoittaa 154 megawatin tuulivoimahankkeeseen Serbiassa Čibuk 2 -tuulipuisto sijaitsee Serbiassa noin 50 kilometriä Belgradista itään. Tuulipuisto oli osa hankekehitysportfoliota, joka siirrettiin Taaleri SolarWind III -rahastoon sen ensimmäisen varainhankintakierroksen päättyessä. Rahasto ja Yhdistyneiden arabiemiirikuntien puhtaan energian yhtiö Masdar ovat hankkeen yhteisomistajia. Tuulipuiston odotetaan aloittavan sähköntuotanto vuoden 2026 ensimmäisellä neljänneksellä.
