President Stubb to attend Munich Security Conference

President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb will attend the Munich Security Conference (MSC) on 13 and 14 February 2026.

The key themes of the security conference this year are European security and defence, transatlantic relations, the future of the multilateral system, the changing world order, regional conflicts and the impact of technological advances on security. The peace process in Ukraine and the continuation of support for Ukraine will be on the agenda at several events and meetings held alongside the conference.

On Friday 13 February, President Stubb will participate in a luncheon discussion on current security challenges and in a panel on global power relations.

The President’s programme will include a roundtable on the future information environment, hosted by the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence. President Stubb will also take part in an event discussing Europe’s defence, organised by the think-tank European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) and the Open Society Foundations (OSF), a network supporting initiatives to promote democracy.

During the conference, the President will also be taking part in various panels and events at Heads of State or Government level, as well as holding several bilateral meetings.

In addition to President Stubb, Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen and Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen will attend the Security Conference in Munich.

The Munich Security Conference is an annual forum for discussion aimed at promoting conflict resolution, international cooperation and dialogue. The conference brings together foreign and security policy decision-makers from around the world.
