St1 divests St1 Lähienergia to Geonova Oy

St1 has divested its subsidiary, St1 Lähienergia Oy, to Geonova Oy, a company specialized in geothermal heating solutions. The transaction became effective on 11 February 2026.
The divestment is driven by St1’s strategic decision to further strengthen its focus on advancing the energy transition in transport as well as exploring opportunities offered by the power market. St1 is directing its investments in the transport sector toward solutions that support the electrification of road transport, the growing role of biogas in heavy-duty road transport and marine transport, as well as the use of biofuels in aviation. Geothermal heating solutions are at the core of Geonova’s business, and the expertise of St1 Lähienergia fits naturally into this overall offering.
