Fire in Pähkinärinne Vantaa last night – the wellbeing services county offers social and crisis emergency services for those who need it

These kinds of situations can wake many feelings and thoughts, and it is important to discuss them with your loved ones. 
 
"The matter may also raise many questions in children, and children need the support and presence from an close adult in this kind of situation. It is good to talk openly with children and young persons, taking into account their age. The best way for parents to create a safe environment is to stick on to daily routines", says director for social and crisis emergency service Henna Niskanen.

• If you live in the area or are close with the victims, you can contact the social and crisis emergency service of Vantaa and Kerava wellbeing services county at the number 09 4191 5800. The social and crisis emergency service is open every day 24 h a day. 

• Others can contact the social and crisis emergency services in their own wellbeing services county or Mieli ry:s crisis helpline at the number 09 2525 0111. Mieli ry national crisis numbers  

• The Finnish Red Cross offers discussion help to young adults and families in chocking crises Finnish Red Cross youth shelter in Vantaa-Kerava either face-to-face or in Nettiturvis on internet.

• Hämeenkylä church is open. There is a possibility for silence and discussion in the church and pastors and deacons are present. Today 3.3. at 18 is arranged an event of silence at Hämeenkylä church.

"I want to express my condolences to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives in the fire. This event chocks us all. Social and crisis emergency services: offers support to those who need help", says county chief executive Timo Aronkytö. 

The wellbeing services county of Vantaa and Kerava cooperates closely with other authorities to take care of the situation. Social and crisis emergency services cooperates also with schools and daycare in the area. 

The social and crisis emergency´s task in the fire situation is to organize emergency accommodation for those who need it and offer psychosocial support. Psychosocial support focuses on working with the victims' families and loved ones. Social and crisis emergency services is forming a crisis centre, where persons who are evacuated are transferred.

In the wellbeing services county of Vantaa and Kerava Central Uusimaa Rescue Department has handled the rescue and first aid operations in the situation.
