August Associates expands to Sweden

Established in Helsinki in 2001, August Associates has built a strong position in the Finnish consulting market. Over the years, the firm has delivered impact through more than 1 000 client engagements, serving the majority of Finland’s largest companies.

Fredrik Gustafsson has been appointed to lead the firm’s Swedish operations. He brings vast experience from top-tier management consulting and has previously worked at BCG, Qvartz and Occam. Gustafsson has broad experience in strategy, commercial transformation and private equity advisory, including commercial due diligence and value creation initiatives with portfolio companies.

- We see significant opportunities in the Swedish market. There is demand for an agile, strategy-oriented consulting partner positioned between the large global consulting firms and niche boutiques, Gustafsson says.

Peter Andén will join August Associates as an Executive Advisor to support the firm’s expansion in Sweden. Andén previously worked at McKinsey, where he served as a partner, and has most recently held several board positions.

- I’m excited to see August enter the Swedish market and bring its proven ability to deliver business value to demanding clients, including private equity firms and their portfolio companies, Andén says.

The Stockholm office will begin operations in April 2026.
