DNA is the first operator in the Nordic countries to offer its customers Google Firebase’s Phone Number Verification service. Firebase Phone Number Verification (PNV) confirms a mobile subscription user’s phone number directly with the operator. The service will initially work only on Android smartphones and will be available starting in spring 2026.

Firebase PNV is a new way to confirm a user’s phone number directly from the mobile operator without sending verification codes via SMS. The SIM card in the user’s device and the operator together verify the phone number for the application with a single tap. This makes new user sign-up and login faster, more secure, and less error‑prone than traditional text‑message-based verification codes and their manual input. Firebase PNV retrieves the phone number directly from the operator through an API interface for verification.

“With this verification service, DNA’s Android customers will have an even smoother and more secure way to verify their phone numbers across various services. This perfectly supports our vision for a smarter and safer tomorrow,” says Anna-Mari Ylihurula, Senior Vice President, Corporate Business at DNA.

“DNA’s focus and expertise on security and its long-standing role as a Google Cloud partner made it a natural fit as the first operator in the Nordics to support Firebase PNV,” says Micah Baker, Sr. Product Manager, Google Cloud.

The service will be freely available to all DNA customers using Android phones with applications that update to use it. When an application uses the new service, a new user consent will display before the phone number is shared.

Samsungin keskihintainen Galaxy A56 5G nousi DNA:n kuluttaja-asiakkaiden maaliskuun myydyimmäksi puhelimeksi selkeällä erolla seuraaviin malleihin. Apple jatkoi puolestaan yritysasiakkaiden suosituimpana valmistajana, ja iPhone 16 5G sijoittui listan ykköspaikalle. Käytettyjen puhelinten myynnissä Applen mallit pitivät niin ikään asemansa, mutta Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra 5G nousi kuukauden yllättäjäksi. Maaliskuun ostetuin älykello oli Apple Watch Series 11 (GPS). Tietokoneissa ensimmäisen kvartaalin myydyin malli oli Acer Aspire Lite 14.
