Single point of contact services promote smooth permit-granting procedures for green transition projects

The single point of contact services of the Finnish Supervisory Agency’s Department of the Environment manage single point of contact authority tasks in accordance with the EU’s Renewable Energy Directive and the acts concerning net-zero industry and critical raw materials. The single point of contact services follow the one-stop service concept and promote green transition by streamlining the permit-granting and other administrative procedures for projects. 

The single point of contact services provide advice to the implementers of projects governed by the aforementioned decrees on what kinds of administrative procedures the project requires, for example, draw up schedules for the projects’ overall permit-granting processes together with the competent authorities, as well as monitor compliance with the deadlines set for the projects’ permit-granting and other administrative procedures.  

”Single point of contact services receive information about the project automatically when the project promoter starts the production facility’s service package electronically in the Permits and supervision service. Once we have received information about the project, we will contact the project promoter. We can assist with coordinating the project’s overall permit-granting process and initiate the time limit calculation”, says Senior Environmental Officer Zeenab Khalil.
