Adven to acquire Apetit’s biosteam plant at the Kantvik vegetable oil milling plant in Finland
30.6.2026 09:00:00 EEST | Adven Group Oy | Press release
Adven has agreed to acquire the biosteam plant located at the Kantvik vegetable oil milling plant from the plant-based food company Apetit. At the same time, the parties have entered into a long-term energy supply agreement, starting upon completion of the transaction at the beginning of 2027.

Completed in 2021, the biosteam plant produces energy for the needs of the Kantvik vegetable oil milling plant. Once the transaction has been completed, Adven will be responsible for the operation of the plant in Kirkkonummi and any future investments.
“The transaction is a continuation of the good cooperation between the companies. We have been supplying energy to Apetit’s Säkylä plant since 2022, and we are pleased to deepen our partnership in Kantvik as well. Apetit plays a significant role in the Finnish food industry, and it is important to us to help strengthen domestic food production and Finland’s self-sufficiency through sustainable and reliable energy solutions,” says Juha Elo, SVP for Industrial Energy Solutions at Adven.
“We are pleased with the solution in which a competent operator focused on energy both acquires and takes responsibility for the biosteam plant of the oilseed milling plant. This enables us to focus our resources even more strongly on our core business,” says Timo Huttunen, Director of Apetit’s Oilseed Products business.
Vegetable oil milling is the most energy-intensive part of the production process and requires a significant amount of steam energy. The plant uses domestic wood chips as fuel, and production side streams, such as straw and screening fractions delivered together with seed supplies, can also be utilised at the plant.
