Taaleri’s portfolio company Nordic Ren-Gas signs renewable e-methane offtake agreement with avanca/Alternoil
Taaleri’s portfolio company Nordic Ren-Gas has signed a long-term offtake agreement with avanca Energy AG, one of Europe's largest renewable LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) platforms, with its subsidiaries avanca Renewables AG, managing the renewable fuel portfolio, and Alternoil GmbH, Germany's largest renewable LNG distributor, for renewable e-methane produced at its Tampere facility. The commercial partnership is one of the largest of its kind in Europe and accelerates the progress towards a fully integrated, cross-border renewable e-methane supply chain.
The agreement combines Ren-Gas's Finnish e-methane production platform with avanca's/Alternoil’s established renewable LNG distribution network in Europe. Renewable e-methane produced at the Tampere facility will be distributed through the existing gas infrastructure directly to heavy-duty transport operators.
Signing of the agreement is a significant step towards a final investment decision for Ren-Gas’ Tampere facility. This milestone also facilitates the completion of the final tranche of Taaleri’s investment in Ren-Gas.
