Today, Sweco published its interim report for the second quarter of 2026. Sweco Finland's EBITA was at a better level than last year, and growth continued driven by acquisitions. There were also some positive signs in the market.

Sweco Finland's net sales for the second quarter were EUR 96.2 million. EBITA was EUR 7.9 million, and the EBITA margin 8.3 per cent. EBITA was at a better level than in the previous year, mainly due to a better billing ratio compared to the corresponding period last year. Sweco Finland's growth continued driven by acquisitions and was 14 per cent.

"We have had a good second quarter in which we have won a wide range of projects, including data centres and commercial buildings, as well as industrial and infrastructure projects. Fimpec's consolidation into Sweco was completed in June, resulting Sweco to become Finland's leading expert organisation in project and construction management, as well as in the industrial and energy sector, which makes us even more able to support our clients in large-scale projects. We also made a significant acquisition during the quarter, when Platom, an expert organisation in the nuclear industry, became part of Sweco. With the acquisition, Sweco became Finland's leading expert in the nuclear industry and at the same time strengthened our position in Europe's growing nuclear energy sector," says Thomas Hietto, CEO of Sweco Finland.

During the second quarter, Sweco Finland won several significant projects.

The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency selected Sweco to plan the Rail Nordica railway project, which aims not only to connect Finland's railway network more closely to the west, but also to ensure smooth cross-border transport chains. If implemented, the railway will improve Finland's security of supply and strengthen the operating conditions of the business sector. In the project, Sweco is responsible for the administrative planning, permit processes and ground investigations of the railway connection and the related infrastructure as part of the design consortium.

Sweco was also selected as a partner in the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency's ERTMS programme, which aims to renew the signalling and train control systems of the entire Finnish railway network in stages by the 2040s. In the project, Sweco's experts are responsible for the design of replacing safety and train control systems, as well as commissioning inspections of the implementations.
