The "Kuorojen kierros" Choir Event Celebrates 30 Years

To mark three decades of harmony, over 130 choirs and more than 2,600 singers will gather in the heart of Helsinki. The event kicks off with a massive joint concert before spreading across the city for hundreds of pop-up performances.

From Senate Square to Lively Restaurants

 The event begins with a grand joint concert at Senate Square at 18:00. Following the opening performance, from 19:00 to 22:00, the choirs will scatter into Helsinki’s vibrant restaurants, streets, and parks. With 55 designated performance venues, audiences can enjoy more than 250 intimate choir concerts throughout the evening.

Since 1996, Kuorojen kierros has seamlessly paired live music with culinary experiences. The event is widely recognized as a large collaborative cultural effort by the local restaurant community, offering nourishment for both body and soul.

Three Decades of Community and Culture

 Choral singing serves as a powerful bridge-builder. It brings together neighborhoods, communities, hobby groups, workplaces, languages, and diverse cultures.

"It is always equally moving and delightful to witness the moment a choir enters a space and the singing begins. Emotion, memories, joy, and skill—sometimes your eyes water from more than just the spicy food. It has been a wonderful 30 years," says Mikko Leisti, the founder of the event.
