Electrification, investments in renewable energy, and data center construction have increased demand for energy and electrical infrastructure. To respond to this growing market, GRK is strengthening the management of its energy and electrical infrastructure business by appointing Janne Kananen to be responsible of the development and management of the Group’s entire electrical business.

Kananen currently serves as Head of the Energy and Infrastructure Business Area at KSBR, a GRK subsidiary, and will continue in that role alongside his new responsibilities. In his new position, he will be responsible for GRK Group’s entire electrical business and will also join the management team of GRK Suomi Oy.

"Electrification and the energy transition create significant opportunities for our industry. Janne has strong expertise and a proven ability to build and develop business operations for future needs. His appointment strengthens GRK’s position in the growing energy and electrical infrastructure market and supports the Group’s strategic development," says GRK's CEO Mika Mäenpää.

According to Janne Kananen, his new role further strengthens GRK’s and KSBR’s ability to respond to customer needs and growing demand.

"Our goal is to ensure that customers benefit from the broader service offering of the entire organization. They will also have access to the electrical and energy services they need through a single supplier, delivered in a centralized and high-quality manner," he says.

GRK Group’s energy and electrical infrastructure business consists of two complementary operations. GRK’s Power business focuses on the construction of electricity transmission networks and substations, serving transmission system operators, regional grid companies, utility companies and public sector customers.

KSBR operates primarily in renewable energy, industrial, wind power, battery energy storage and other private-sector projects.

The objective of centralizing management is to leverage the Group’s expertise more effectively, develop customer relationships, and support profitable growth across all areas of the energy and electrical business. At the same time, GRK is strengthening its capability to deliver increasingly large-scale energy and electrical infrastructure projects in Finland and Sweden.
