Applications are invited from 21 August 2026 for the position of Member of the Board of the Bank of Finland. The Parliamentary Supervisory Council at its meeting yesterday set in motion the application process for the position. The term of office is five years and will begin on 1 February 2027.

Applicants must have an appropriate higher university degree, a good knowledge of the monetary economy or financial operations, and proven management skills and management experience. Assessment of the applications will give particular weight to competence in financial markets and banking operations.

Applications, with a curriculum vitae attached, should be addressed to the Parliamentary Supervisory Council and submitted via the Bank of Finland website's Job Opportunities page no later than 12:00 noon on Wednesday 9 September 2026.

The Bank of Finland is organising two events at the Europe Forum in Turku, both to be held on Thursday 27 August 2026. The customary Esko Antola Lecture, this year focusing on the digital euro, will be delivered at 11:00. The afternoon programme will then include a discussion at 14:45 on labour productivity and human capital growth. The venue for Europe Forum is the Turku City Theatre.
