Varma makes a follow-on investment of over EUR 50 million in cloud service provider Verda

Verda is a Finnish growth company specialising in AI infrastructure and cloud services. It provides AI developers with computing capacity and related services for training and deploying AI models. The rapid growth of AI applications has driven a sharp increase in demand for computing capacity.

Varma has invested in Verda in several stages since 2025. The additional EUR 51 million investment further strengthens Varma’s position as a major shareholder in the company.

Verda raised a total of EUR 163 million from investors in its latest funding round. The round lifted the company’s valuation to USD 1 billion, making Verda a new Finnish unicorn.
