1.10.2026 12:15:43 EEST | Digi- ja väestötietovirasto | Press release
The Sujuva Suomi week, organised by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency on 5–9 October 2026, will explore how easy-to-understand services, safe operations and opportunities to access help build trust. During the week, the new Digital Skills Report will be published, and events will be organised both online and in Oulu.

The Sujuva Suomi week is part of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency’s Sujuva Suomi package that brings current digitalisation phenomena into the wider discussion. The aim is to increase knowledge of the changes in digital society and to find practical means to make people’s everyday lives and services smoother, safer and more equal. The Digital and Population Data Services Agency has the duty to serve people at different stages of life, promote the functioning and stability of society, and ensure the availability of reliable information.
– A smooth digital daily life is not just a skill issue. People have to be able to trust the services they use, and that help is available when needed. We want to use the Sujuva Suomi week to bring different parties together to discuss how this trust is built in practice, says Minna Piirainen, Chief Specialist, Digital and Population Data Services Agency.
Week begins with publication of Digital Skills Report
The Digital Skills Report, which will be published on Monday 5 October, explores Finns’ trust in the authorities’ digital services and the factors that strengthen or undermine this trust. Services that are easy to understand and use, experiences of successful use and an opportunity to get help if necessary support the smooth use of digital services.
The Digital Skills Report will be published at dvv.fi/digitaitoraportti. The results will be presented in more detail on the date of publication.
What are Finns like as digital users?
The webinar held on Tuesday 6 October at o 9:00–12:00 will explore people’s ability to act safely in everyday digital environments and organisations’ capabilities to prepare for disruptions. The discussion will address the strengths and challenges of different age groups in acting safely in digital environments and the means to improve the level of preparedness in organisations faced with a rapidly changing operating environment.
Experts, digital support providers and residents to meet in Oulu
On Wednesday 7 October, the networking day for digital support providers will bring together digital support experts, developers and providers from different parts of Finland to the Central Library Saari in Oulu. You can also participate in the day remotely.
Detective Senior Constable Marko Erämaa from the National Bureau of Investigation will give a talk about cyber-enabled fraud. How will artificial intelligence change it? How can you protect yourself from it? Other topics discussed during the day include the skills required for the safe use of artificial intelligence and young people’s and older people’s personal experiences of trust and digital services, and the recipient of the 2026 Digitukiteko recognition award will be announced.
During the breaks, the event square is also open to local residents. Visitors can get to know digital support stakeholders and their work there. Personal digital support is not provided at the event square.
Members of media are welcome to attend the event in Oulu and interview the day’s experts.
The networking day for digital support providers will be held on 7 October at 8:30–15:30 at the Central Library Saari in Oulu. The event is organised by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency, the City of Oulu, the Regional Council of North Ostrobothnia and the Wellbeing services county of North Ostrobothnia Pohde.
Week ends with acting on behalf of another party
The Sujuva Suomi week will conclude with a webinar held on Friday 9 October, which will explore acting on behalf of another party in the MyKanta service and Suomi.fi Messages, as well as how to ensure smooth and secure service use across different life stages.
All the week’s events are free of charge and open to everyone. Participants can choose to participate in all events or select ones they find interesting. The week provides an opportunity to understand how digitalisation affects everyday life, participate in topical discussions and contribute to building a smoother Finland together with others.
