Applications Open for English-Taught Degree Programmes Starting in Autumn 2027

The application period for Vaasa University of Applied Sciences’ English-taught degree programmes starting in autumn 2027 is open from 1 October 2026 to 30 April 2027. There are a total of 300 study places available in eight Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes. To secure an interview opportunity, applicants are advised to apply early, as student selections are carried out from the beginning of the application period.

The applications are now open for Vaasa University of Applied Sciences’ degree programmes in English starting in autumn 2027. Bachelor’s degree programmes are available in the fields of Business, Engineering, and Health Care and Social Services. Master’s degree programmes are offered in the fields of Business and Engineering.
A total of 300 study places are available across eight degree programmes. Applications are accepted from 1 October 2026 to 30 April 2027, with student selections conducted on a rolling basis throughout the application period. Applicants are therefore encouraged to apply early to increase their chances of securing an interview invitation. The application period may close before the announced deadline if all study places are filled.

The Bachelor's degree programmes are delivered on campus and require regular attendance, combining classroom instruction with a variety of practical learning activities. For professionals seeking greater flexibility, the English-language Master's degree programmes combine on-campus teaching with independent studies and can be tailored to support career development alongside work.
Career in International Business
In the field of Business at Bachelor’s level, VAMK offers International Business degree programme. This 3.5-year programme provides a strong foundation in international business and valuable practical experience through company collaboration projects. The students have an opportunity, in addition to the student exchange and practical training abroad, to study a Double Degree in one of VAMK’s partner universities in Germany or Poland. The students in the Double Degree programme study in two universities and graduate from both.
In the field of business, two Master's-level programmes are also available: International Business Management and Project Management.
The International Business Management programme provides students with both research-based and practical knowledge and skills in management. The studies develop competencies in strategic leadership, business development, and managing operations in an international business environment. The programme takes 1.5 years to complete.
The Project Management programme in business, also completed in 1.5 years, equips students with the skills to lead international project teams and develop strategic project management expertise in multicultural environments. The studies include an IPMA Level C Project Management Certification.
Engineering Degrees for Growing Industry Demand
In the field of Technology, applicants can apply for the Bachelor's degree programme in Information Technology, a four-year programme that covers topics such as software engineering and embedded systems. These skills can be applied in areas such as energy efficiency, energy production, and energy distribution.
The field of Technology also offers three one-year Master's degree programmes: Project Management, Cloud-Based Software Engineering, and Energy Storage Systems.
The Project Management programme in Engineering responds to the growing demand for project management expertise and provides students with a strong foundation for leading large-scale international projects. The studies include an IPMA Level C Project Management Certification.
The Cloud-Based Software Engineering programme, which can be tailored to support the student's professional role, responds to the growing demand for expertise in cloud technologies. The programme deepens knowledge in cloud applications, software architectures, and the development of digital solutions, while supporting career advancement into demanding specialist positions.
The timely Energy Storage Systems programme provides in-depth expertise in energy storage technologies and their business opportunities. The programme prepares graduates for specialist and supervisory roles in the rapidly growing and international energy sector.
Functionally Bilingual Nursing Studies
In the field of Health Care and Social Services, applicants can apply for the Bachelor's degree programme in Nursing, a 3.5-year programme conducted in English. In this functionally bilingual programme, Finnish language studies are closely integrated into professional nursing education from the very beginning. Graduates achieve the level of Finnish language proficiency required for nursing practice in Finland.
Students’ integration into Vaasa and Finnish society is supported through cultural tutoring. This helps students establish themselves in the region and enhances their opportunities for employment after graduation.
Admission Criteria
All English-language degree programmes require applicants to provide proof of sufficient English language proficiency. Accepted language qualifications include widely recognised tests such as SAT, IELTS, TOEFL, and TELC.
